BENNINGTON- Jeffrey Alan Taylor, 63, a resident of North Street in Bennington, Vermont, died at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center on July 24, 2022 surrounded by his wife and children.
He was born in Bennington on April 7, 1959 to the late Willard and Loretta (Goodermote) Taylor. He has 3 siblings James Taylor, Lisa Lyle, and Wanda Taylor.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Marcelena Jalalian, married on May 19, 1984 in Bennington, and their 7 children; Adam Jalalian, Melissa Bourdon (Jalalian - Taylor), David Jalalian - Taylor, Peter Jalalian - Taylor, Leila Jalalian - Taylor, Victoria Jalalian - Taylor and Alexander Jalalian - Taylor and his 17 grandchildren. He is predeceased by 1 grandchild, Josiah Jalalian - Hurley.
Jeffrey attended University of Vermont, majoring in engineering and theater. While attending school, he did a lot of work with the theater and often was helping bands, such as Phish set up for shows at Nectar's music bar. Jeff found his true calling and returned to school at Putnam Memorial school of nursing and received his LPN.
He then started his career in Nursing at Crescent Manor, followed by Weston Hadden Convalescent Center for 20 years where he developed many lasting friendships. He was known as a caring and compassionate Nurse and was a recipient of Crest award for nursing. He worked at Prospect nursing home in North Bennington until he retired in 2006.
He loved spending time with his family, playing card games, barbecuing, and watching TV with his children and grandchildren.
He enjoyed woodworking and creating beautiful furniture for his family. He had a passion for cooking large family meals, and he loved watching videos about new recipes to try at the next family gathering.
After retirement, to unwind he would work in his garden.
Calling Hours for Jeffrey will be held on Friday, July 29th, 2022 at the Mahar Funeral Home on Main street in Bennington. The visitation will be held in the morning from 9am till 11am and then again in the evening from 5pm till 7pm.
