Sonja May Metcalfe

Born on September 1st, 1967, She was the daughter of the late Charles H. And Kathleen (Capin) Metcalfe. She grew up In Bennington and attended the local schools, graduating from Mt. Anthony Union High School in 1986.
Sonja was a Licensed Nurse Assistant at the Vermont Veterans Home for many years.
Sonja enjoyed playing games, cooking shows, and cooking. She especially enjoyed cooking for the holidays. Sonja also had a deep love for animals of all kinds, especially cats and parakeets.
Above all, Sonja loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with her three grandchildren the most.
Sonja is survived by her son Paul Mason (Amanda) of Bennington. Her sister Crystal Pierce (Jeffrey) of Pownal, Vermont. Her three grandchildren; Degan, Blake, and Clayton. A niece; Rebecca Pierce (Asa Clark) As well as their children; Asa and Olivia. Sonja is also survived by a partner; Jim Green of Bennington.
Sonja is predeceased by a niece Robin Pierce Kessler.
A memorial service for Sonja will be held on Friday August 5th, 2022 at 4pm at the Mahar Funeral Home in Bennington. Friends are invited to begin arriving 3:30pm.
