Ruth Marion Rupprecht

Ruth Marion Rupprecht, 85, a resident of Otis, MA passed away on May 14th, 2022 in North Adams, MA. She was born in Bennington, Vermont on March 12th, 1937 to the late George Dewey Johnston and Victoria Edna Cross. Ruth completed her education at North Bennington Schools. She was employed at Bennington Brush, working on the assembly line and was later employed as a seamstress at Aladco, in Adams, MA from which she retired.

Ruth married Robert A. Rupprecht on July 6th, 1974 in Adams, MA. Robert passed away on November 14th, 2003.

She loved to spend time with her friends and family. Ruth also loved nature and enjoyed spending time bird watching. She also enjoyed doing crafts, reading and sewing, even after her retirement.

Ruth is survived by two children; Rebecca (Damasse) LaFlamme, of North Adams, MA and Kevin (Melissa) Rousseau, of Otis, MA. She is survived by three step children; Michael (Patty) Rupprecht, of Bennington, VT, Laurie (Ken) Margison, of Pittsfield, MA, and James (Christine) Rupprecht, of North Adams, MA. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth is also survived by a brother, Hugh D. Johnston, of Lakeland, FL and a daughter-in-law, Candi Rousseau, of North Bennington, VT.

She was predeceased by one son, Terry Michael Rousseau, who passed away just a few hours before she did, and a daughter, Wanda Rousseau. Ruth was also predeceased by a sister-in-law Dorothy Johnston.

Friends and family are invited to call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on May 28th, 2022 from 12:30pm-1pm. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 1:00pm.

Ruth will be buried in the family plot at Evergreen Cemetery in Arlington.
