Patricia Eleanor Bishop passed away on Tuesday, December 30th surrounded by her loving children. Patricia was born on October 23rd, 1945, in Bennington, Vermont to Margarita Katherine and Frank Joseph Valentine. Patricia was one of six children.
Patricia spent her younger years raising her 6 children while working at Mack Molding in Arlington, VT for over 25 years. After retirement, Patricia continued working in childcare for an additional 5 years, which she enjoyed deeply alongside her daughter Laura.
Patricia was exceptional at crocheting and sewing. She enjoyed creating works of art for her children and grandchildren such as blankets and sweaters. Patrica enjoyed gardening in the summer months at her home in Somerset, and had a love for flowers such as Larkspur and Lupine. Patricia had a strong faith in the Lord, and read her bible often. Patricia shared her love of the Lord with her son-in-law Chip (Leslie) Andrew, and her faith grew with every passing year of her life.
Patricia’s greatest joy was her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She enjoyed camping with her grandchildren on large family trips as well as taking the pontoon boat out on the open water for fishing.
Survivors include all of Patricias children, Theresa Watson (Frank) of Bristol, RI , Laura Andrew of Hoosick Falls, NY, Leonard Kelley (Linda) of Bennington, VT, Bernadette Sumner (Scott) of North Adams, MA, Karen Butler (James) of North Bennington, VT, Leslie Andrew of Arlington, VT, Joseph A Bishop Jr. of Delaware, and William Bishop (April) of Maryland.
Patricia was predeceased in death by her loving son in law Chip (Leslie) Andrew, husband Joseph A Bishop, husband Kenneth Bishop and great grandson Beau Baker Andrew.
Donations in her memory can be made to the Cancer Crusaders: Cancer Center Community Crusaders in Bennington Vermont. Patricia was a breast and lung cancer survivor, and she made many connections, and had much support from this group of amazing people.
