Miss Monica Ann Murray, 86, a resident of Silver Street in Bennington, passed away on August 11, 2025.
Born in Bennington, VT on February 1, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Clifford and Eleanor Eva (Noyes) Murray. She received her education in North Bennington and later attended St. Joseph’s Business School. She was a graduate of the Putnam Memorial Hospital School of Practical Nursing.
In earlier years she was employed as a private duty nurse in the Bennington area.
Miss Murray was a communicant of Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church. She sang in the church choir and was a soloist at many weddings and funerals.
She loved birds as well as her enjoyment of music and singing.
Survivors include one sister, Judith E. Way of Pownal, VT. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Monica is predeceased by a brother, Ernest R. Murray, half-brother Ernest C. Murray Jr., two half-sisters, and four additional half-brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church located in Bennington, VT. Following the mass, a graveside service will be held at the family plot at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington, VT.
