Linda Jean Webster, 75, a resident of Bennington, Vermont, passed away peacefully on April 4th, 2022, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, following a courageous twelve year battle with cancer.
She was born in Fort Covington, New York on March 6th, 1947 to the late Verna (Griffin) and Roy Lamay. Linda attended the Brushton-Moirra Central School, and was a member of the graduating class of 1965.
She was employed at the Center for Living and Rehabilitation for over 18 years, which she greatly enjoyed, in her own words, she "loved it". Linda loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchild. She loved going on cruises, mostly for the time she could spend with her family, but partly because of the unlimited access to Mailbu. Some of her favorite destinations were Hawaii and the Caribbean. Linda also enjoyed going to Florida to visit Disney. She previously had travelled the country in a pop-up camper with her partner, Elmer, before settling on a more permanent camper and campsite location in Crown Point, New York.
Linda is survived by her long-time partner, Elmer Burgess, her two children; Timothy (Katrina) Webster, of South Strafford, VT and Tina (Michael) Harrington, of North Bennington, VT. Step-children; Lynn Cramer, Trudy Miranda, Cindy Thomas. Her grandchildren; Shelby (Tyler) Sukuskas, Jacob (Alyssa) Webster, Jeremiah (Michaela) Webster, Hannah Webster, Derek Davis and Marissa MacPhee. Linda is survived by 7 step-grandchildren. Linda is also survived by her siblings; Donald (Nancy) Lamay, Phyllis Grant, Stanley (Sandy) Lamay, Darlene (Walt) Sullivan, Cheryl Lamay, Richard (Mary Ann) Lamay, Merrill (Nancy) Lamay.
