Laura May Bump (Bartlett)

Laura May Bump, 82, widow of Robert E. Bump Sr., a resident of Rice Lane, Bennington, died January 12, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family following a long illness.
Born in Buskirk, NY on October 19, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Niles and Ida Bartlett. She received her education in the Cambridge, NY schools. Laura and Bob were married on June 2, 1961 in Bennington. Bob died April 26, 2005.
In earlier years Laura was employed at the Polygraphic Company in North Bennington.
Laura's home and family were always her main interest. In her free time she enjoyed reading and needlepoint.
Survivors include her 5 children, Robert E. Bump Jr. of Hillsborough, NH; Donna Bump and her partner Dale Kennedy, Vickie Bump, Bonnie Bump and Ida Bushee, all of Bennington; two granddaughters, Cheyanne Bushee and Stefanie O'Shea; five step-granddaughters; a twin sister, Lillian Sweet of Bennington and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband Laura was predeceased by a grandson, Dakota and by several brothers and sisters.
Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
Graveside committal services will take place following at 12:15 p.m. at Hinsdillville Cemetery.
Should friends desire memorial contributions in memory of Laura Bump may be made to either the Renal Dialysis Center at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center or to Second Chance Animal Center through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
