Joan M. Laroche

April 26, 1934 — July 20, 2022

Joan M. LaRoche, 88, a resident of Pine Road in Bennington died Wednesday July 20, 2022 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington following a brief illness.

She was born in Bennington, VT April 26, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Eva (Enright) Barnhardt. She received her education in Bennington and was a 1952 graduate of Bennington High School. She later attended St. Josephs Business School.

She married Andre F. LaRoche on September 27, 1957. Mr. LaRoche died June 15, 2014.

In earlier years Joan worked as a secretary for Attorney Fred Ehrich. She later worked at Thomson Manufacturing, Woolworths and the Camelot Village.

Joan enjoyed her flower gardens and crafts, but her family was her main interest.

Survivors include her children, Lureen George (Scott) of Hoosick Falls, NY, Joseph LaRoche of Orange Port, Florida, Paula LaRoche of Colorado Springs, Colorado, James LaRoche (Cheryl) of Bennington and Jeff LaRoche (Paula) of Bennington. Her boyfriend George Corey of Bennington. Five grandchildren, Erica, Casie, Michael, Jacob and Samantha. Five great grandchildren, Grace, Avery, Sawyer, Noah and Kate. Along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a brother Robert "Buster" Barnhardt.

A graveside service will be held at the family lot at Park Lawn Cemetery on Tuesday July 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
