Jean A. Hurley, 82, a resident of Mattison Road in Pownal, VT died Sunday July 3, 2022 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington following a brief illness.
She was born in Bennington, VT March 31, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Achille and Lydia LeBlanc Langlois. Jean received her early education at Sacred Heart School in Bennington and was a graduate of Bennington High School.
She married Norman E. Hurley Sr. on April 27, 1957 in Bennington, VT.
In earlier years, Jean work at the Pownal Tannery and Mack Molding.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking, quilting, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Marc Hurley (Constance) of Bennington, Lori Marshall of Pownal and Timmy Hurley (Bobbie Jo) of Pownal and a daughter in law, Bonnie Hurley of Bennington. Six grandchildren, Scott, Ryan and Eli Hurley, Michael Hurley, Trevor and Kyle Marshall, and Katie Hurley. Four very close great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her very close neice, Valerie Petitt.
She was pre-deceased by two sons, Scott and Norman Hurley and two daughter in laws, Missy Hurley and Dawn Hurley. She was also pre-deceased by three sisters Jacqueline Lorette, Doris Kalinowski, Joyce Davis and three brothers, Donald, David and Stephen Langlois.
There will be no calling hours or funeral services.
A graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Pownal on Saturday July 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
Following the graveside service, there will be a celebration of life at the Pownal American Legion Post 90 on Route 7 in Pownal, VT.
