James Leonard Cross, 50, a resident of Depot St. in Danby, VT died unexpectedly on Thursday April 5, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in Burlington, VT December 20, 1967. He was the son of Leonard Cross and Marilyn (Harbour) Watson who survive.
He received his education in Bennington and attended Mount Anthony Union High School
Jim was self employed as a roofing contractor. In earlier years he had been employed at Burgess Brothers in Bennington.
He enjoyed fishing and loved his stray cats.
Survivors include his long- time companion, Stephanie Crouse of Danby, VT, his father Leonard Cross of Bennington and his mother, Marilyn Watson of Eagle Bridge, NY; three brothers Kevin Cross and his wife Amy of St. Albans, VT, Adam Cross of Bennington and Lucas Cross and his long-time companion, Kayla Zoppel of Sandgate, VT, a sister Lyndsay Bates and her husband Randy of Cambridge, NY along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at the family lot at White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington on Thursday April 12, at 2:00 p.m.
A reception will follow the service at the American Legion Post 13 in Bennington.
