Pownal- Harry Lewis Briggs Sr. 90, a resident of North Mason Hill Road in Pownal, Vermont passed away peacefully on May 12th, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Bennington on April 14, 1932 to the late Randall and Lizzie (Hill) Briggs. He received his education in the Bennington schools.
Harry was a Korean War veteran, serving with the U.S. Army during that time.
He married the former Nancy Buck in Colrain, Massachusetts on February 24, 1983.
Harry was a well-known, self employed licensed master plumber for many years. He also worked as a school bus drivers and held many various jobs. He was a member of Bennington Moose Lodge 1223. He enjoyed horseback riding, hunting and was a member of the Pownal Valley Swinging Seniors.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 40 years, Nancy Briggs. His ten children; Harry Briggs Jr., Octavia Briggs, Kim Briggs, Pamela Long, Gordon Briggs, Travis Briggs. Belinda Briggs, Sabrina Briggs, Shane Briggs, and Christopher Briggs. Many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, Great nephews and many 'honorary' nieces and nephews.
Harry is predeceased by a son Gavin Briggs. His sisters; Patricia Morgan, Janet Burdick, and Marlene Stratton. His brothers; Randall "Ted" Briggs, and Lewis Briggs.
Visitation for Harry will be held from 1pm till 2pm at the Mahar Funeral Home in Bennington Vermont on Wednesday, May 18, 2022
