George “Gary” Dickie, a resident of 66 Foster Drive in Bennington, VT passed away on October 29, 2025.  
He was born in Bennington, VT on December 6, 1953. He was the son of the late George and Dorothy (Cross) Dickie. Gary received his education in Bennington and was a 1971 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School.  
He married the former Patti-Jean Livingston on February 5, 1972, at the First United Methodist Church in Bennington.  
For 30 years Gary had been employed at the Eagle Square in Shaftsbury, VT and for 12 years he had been employed at Vermont Composites in Bennington from which he retired April 27, 2017. Most recently he was employed part-time at the Vermont Veterans Home. 
He was a member of the Bennington Elks Lodge #567. Gary enjoyed deer hunting, bowling, camping, and NASCAR. He was also a longtime MAYAA football coach, working with his brother Scott for the Bucks.
Survivors include his wife, Patti-Jean Dickie, of Bennington. Children, Scott (Kelly) Dickie of Arlington, VT and Kelli (Scott) Hurley of Shaftsbury, VT. His grandchildren, Joslin Dickie, Sierra (Trevor) Lounsbury, Max Hurley, and Kasey Dickie. His great granddaughter Isabelle. His brothers and sisters, Scott (Melinda) Dickie, Jeff (Julie) Dickie, Patricia (Tom) Frechette, and Norma Therriault. Along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  
A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington, Vermont, with a brief service to follow. After the visitation, friends and family are invited to gather at Kelli’s Tavern in Bennington, Vermont.
