Eleanore Perra Simpatico

Eleanore Perra Simpatico, 86, a resident of Coleville Road in Bennington, passed away on March 18th, 2022 at the Center for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, Vermont.
Eleanore was born on August 22, 1935 in Hartford, Connecticut and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Alice (Saucier) Perra. She received her education in Hartford Schools and is a graduate of St. Joseph's College and the University of Hartford, with her Master's Degree in education. She continued her education further, attending Fairfield University, achieving her Sixth Year Degree, and was only a few credits away from achieving her Doctorate. Eleanore taught Spanish in Newington and East Hartford, Connecticut and in Bennington, Vermont.
She married Henry A.P. Simpatico on June 17th, 1989 in New Haven, Connecticut. Together, they spent over thirty years going to Cape Cod each year. Eleanore loved being at the beach.
She was blessed with an incredible green thumb. Her gardens were her pride and joy, she proudly kept up eleven different gardens at their house. Eleanore, along with Henry, developed Mary's Garden at St. John the Baptist Church in North Bennington, with help at the time from Father Baffa.
Eleanore is survived by her husband, Henry. She was predeceased by her parents, and siblings; Jeanette, Raymond, Omer, Adelaide, and Arthur, as well as one niece, Maureen Perra.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street in Bennington, on March 24th, 2022 from 4pm until 7pm. A Mass of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church in North Bennington, Vermont on March 25th, 2022 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in the family lot in St. John's Cemetery in North Bennington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Eleanore may be made to Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales School through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201
