ARLINGTON
Dolores M. Woodard, 71, a resident of Arlington, died Wednesday, December 30,
2020 at the Center for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington with her family by
her side, following a long illness.
Born in Mount Kisco, NY on April 15, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Thomas
and Marion (Miller) Alford. She received her education in the Yorktown Heights,
NY schools and following high school she went on to receive her certificate as a
dental hygienist.
Dolores married Floyd C. Woodard at St. Patrick's Church in Yorktown, NY on
August 15, 1970. Floyd passed away on July 8, 2014.
For many years she was employed as the meat cutter and manager at the IGA store
in Arlington, and served as an EMT with the Arlington Rescue Squad. Later she
was a devout volunteer at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center where she was
often recognized for over 2000 annual hours of service. She greatly enjoyed her
dogs and cats, and was an avid reader, cell phone gamer and NASCAR fan.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas E. and Amy Woodard of
Bennington; a daughter and son-in-law, Valene and Aaron Gallett of Arlington;
four grandchildren, Jacob, Cobie, Jasmine and Hunter; a sister, Glenda O'Dell of
Ocala, FL and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services celebrating the life of Dolores Woodard will be held on
Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Columban's Cemetery in Arlington.
