Bennington

Derryck S, “Bone” Boardman of Bennington VT passed away at the southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vermont on August 7, 2025. Bone was born in Bennington on May 18, 1967. The son of the late Edward and Marjorie (Hulett) Morse Sr

While a resident of Main Street in Bennington, Bone loved to sit outside his house and yell to the folks he knew walking in and out of Stewart’s or just walking down the street, more time than not they’d stop over and chat with him a while. He loved his son, Owen, greatly. In Owen’s younger years. Bone would walk up and down Main Street and throughout town pulling Owen in his little red wagon, always the proud father. Bone enjoyed working on cars in his younger years, and anything to do with car racing. He also thoroughly enjoyed fishing with his nephews Dylan and Spencer as often as he could. He loved his scratch tickets, one day he was gonna win that million, or so he thought anyway. He had a lot of love for his family and friends, would do all he could to help a friend in need. He was a joker, always enjoyed a good laugh, especially when talking about all the crazy things he did throughout his life.

He survived by his son, Owen Kirk of Bennington, Vermont. His sister’s: Terry Hogan of Union South Carolina. Kate Boardman of Bennington VT, Bert (her late husband Brian) Fraker of Shirleysburg PA and Helen ( Raymond) Decker also of Bennington VT. His brothers: Richard (Erica) Morse William ( Shelly ) Boardman and Edward (his late wife Fay) Morse Jr all of Bennington VT. Also, several Nieces & Nephews and many great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Darsee Morse, a brother, Darren Boardman, and a nephew David Sargent.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 3 to 6 PM at the Bennington Rural Fire Department at 276 Orchard Rd. in Bennington, Vermont.
