Christopher Nicholas Perrotta, 71, resident of Bennington passed away peacefully at his home on August 10, 2025.
Chris was born in Bennington, VT on June 6, 1954. He was the son of the late Virginio and Patricia (Nash) Perrotta. He received his education in Bennington where he attended Saint Francis de Sales Academy, and was a 1973 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School. He later attended Southern Vermont College where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.
For 28 years, Chris was employed by the State of Vermont Probation and Parole in Bennington. He was a member of the Bennington Elks Lodge and served on the Emergency Crime Victims Board. He also volunteered at the Centers for Restorative Justice. Chris enjoyed sports, music, and comedy.
Chris is survived by a brother, Mike Lewis of Florida, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Chris is predeceased by two siblings, Joan Perrotta, and Maxie Perrotta Jr. In November of 2024 he lost his loving companion, Lisa McDermott.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church located in Bennington, VT. Following the mass, a graveside service will take place at the family lot at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington.
