Andrew Douglas Nutting, 86, resident of Bennington, VT passed away on May 12, 2025 in North Adams, MA surrounded by his loving family.
Andrew was born on August 28, 1938 in Williamstown, MA to the late Andrew and Helen (Archambeault) Nutting. He received his education and graduated from Williamstown High School. Shortly after graduating, he joined the United States Army, and served from 1961-1963 during the Vietnam Era. Andrew would later marry the love of his life, Susan Smith, and together they would raise two children.
Once Andrew finished serving in the military, he would later be employed as a liquor store manager in Pownal, VT – and would retire later from working in Bennington, VT. Andrew was also a proud member of the American Legion. In addition, he was an avid Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins, and New York Giants fan. Above all, family was everything to Andrew. He will be sorely missed by those that knew him.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Susan Nutting. His children, Heather Jenner (Larry Carpenter) of Manchester, NH; and Andrew Nutting III (Bea Yu) of Concord, MA. Two grandchildren, Ian and Zenzi Nutting. He is also survived by a sister, Marilyn Vince of Williamstown, MA, and several nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
Andrew is predeceased by a sister, Patricia Dean; brothers-in-law Karl Dean, Samuel Vince, Edward Smith; and sister-in-law Rosalie Smith. Also a niece, Kimberly Cyr.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
