It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alan Robert Shephard Jr, who left us on 12/27/2025 in Troy, New York. He was born on 3/17/1982 in Bennington, Vermont to Alan Shephard Sr. and the late Michelle Carpenter Shephard.
Alan was a very creative person who had a talent for art as well as musical production, having created many albums of original material. In the past he enjoyed being a Civil War reenactor with the 2nd Battery Vermont Light Artillery, which he participated in with his father. Alan co-hosted a paranormal radio show with his father, Haunted America Radio, on 1370 WBTN-AM in Bennington. He also enjoyed video recording concerts at the former Knapps Underground teen club for later posting on YouTube. He had a great sense of humor and was a joy to be around. Alan was a spiritual person, who believed in God and was able to quote scripture with ease. There is no doubt he would be excited to be with his savior.
Alan is survived by his amazing son, Dylan Shephard; his father, Alan Shephard Sr. (Chastity); his sister, Dakota Shephard (Dana Thomas); his nephews, Marxus and Xander, his niece, Ruby, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Michelle Carpenter Shephard; his maternal grandparents, John and Suzanne Carpenter; his paternal grandmother, Ruby Littlefield; and his paternal grandfather, Albert Shephard.
Visitation will be held at Mahar and Son Funeral Home, Bennington, Vermont on 1/2/2026 from 1 to 3. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and share their memories. In honoring Alan’s request cremation will follow.
In honor of Alan Shephard's memory the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Mahar and Sons Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses.
May Alan's soul rest in eternal peace.
